  • Purpose Of The Job

    The Senior SEO Specialist reports to the Global SEO Manager and helps with shaping and executing SEO strategies and projects on one of the largest and most complex e-retail web sites in the world as well as many other Newegg owned properties. The Senior SEO Specialist is often required to collaborate with and support the Web, Content, and Product Marketing groups on initiatives involving SEO. The ideal candidate must have very strong technical and analytical skills as well as communication skills; capable of rolling up their sleeves and digging into the nitty-gritty of SEO aspects of and communicating their findings in a data driven way.


    • Help with maximizing organic traffic growth on our website using SEO methods as well as ensuring that SEO techniques and strategies are correctly implemented and consistent across sites
    • Regularly monitor Newegg sites for SEO issues and other relevant errors using a variety of SEO tools and expertise
    • Surface issues to the SEO Manager in a timely manner, in order to provide highly responsive service
    • Help with optimizing site architecture, URL structures, and content for maximized indexing and keyword relevance
    • Proactively identify new areas of opportunity based on organic search traffic and trends
    • Monitor search engine keyword rankings, competitor analysis, and link building.
    • Review and assess current editorial content for quality and optimization purposes.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

    • 3 - 5 years of relevant SEO experience
    • Extensive SEO knowledge and developing strategies
    • Unique knowledge of link building and improving online presence
    • Ability to define goals, measure and analyze effectiveness of SEO efforts
    • Highly analytical with experience working with large data sets
    • Advanced knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and any of languages relevant to SEO
    • Substantial experience with web development and web development processes as they related to SEO
    • Proven ability to work closely with technical teams
    • Advanced knowledge of the latest Google news and algorithms and their impact on SEO
    • Advanced knowledge of web servers, including server codes (e.g. 200 OK) – especially ISS
    • Full working knowledge of Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics (Omniture), Bing Webmaster Tools, Google News, Bing News along with other 3rd party tools and applications such as Screaming Frog, SEO Tools for Excel, SEMRush, DeepCrawl, seoClarity, etc.
    • Mastery of technical-SEO fundamentals (page markup & schemas, URL structures, site crawl performance, server vs. client-side rendering, caching & CDNs, etc.)
    • Must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment
    • Driven self-starter who considers the people and processes needed to get something done
    • BA/BS degree in a related discipline preferred but not required

    Essential Mental and Physical Functions

    Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment.

    Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required

    Equipment Used

    Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software will be provided.

    Work Environment

    Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
