  • Purpose Of The Job

    The Human Resource Manager is responsible for leading the various human resources projects and providing strategic HR decisions

    Responsibilities/Duties

    • Provide strategic HR decision support and counsel to their responsible location(s)
    • Manage and continually improve the performance management process and system
    • Establish and improve human capital metrics and develop measurement tools for human resources operational efficiency
    • Advise management on employee status change issues, including promotion, demotion, employee transfer; and terminations
    • Supervise, develop, and mentor the work assignments of staff
    • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
    • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
    • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints
    • Collaborates with business partners to solve problems and resolve conflicts in a creative, responsive and pro-active manner
    • Evaluates location from a human resources perspective; partner with the appropriate resources to implement a pro-active, employee focused plan with an end result of meeting the location’s employee, operational and financial goals
    • Training and supporting operational managers and supervisors to ensure company goals for employee development and customer service are attained through consistent execution of human resources, training and operational plans
    • Maintains open communication of issues, initiatives and operating plans and responsibilities among location personnel, management, regional and corporate office to facilitate efficient and effective execution of training plans and HR programs
    • Represents the company for any unemployment claims
    • Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce
    • Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings
    • Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling meetings between supervisor and the employee
    • Conducts new hire orientation as well as new hire paperwork for processing
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

    • Bachelor degree in Human Resources required
    • PHR certified
    • 8 years of HR experience
    • State driver’s license and auto insurance
    • Must be able to obtain international work/travel documents (visa, passports), when applicable
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Knowledgeable of state and federal laws and regulations
    • Adept at working with Human Resource Information Systems; SAP is a plus
    • Ability to respond to the most sensitive inquires and/or complaints from management, employees and/or customers
    • Possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
    • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret reports, legal documents, and government regulations
    • Flexible with strong customer focus
    • Ability to present structured material to small to medium groups of employees

    Essential Mental and Physical Functions

    Mental Functions:
    Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department. Job may contribute to important strategy, operational, and business decisions that affect the department. This position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.

    Physical Functions:
    Sitting required 80% of the time. Walking and standing required 10% of the time. No heavy lifting required.
