Provides personal services to existing business customers to build excellent relationships in order to better understand and satisfy customers’ needs. Responsible for increasing the sales/revenue by developing new business customers.
Establish, maintain and develop business, social and civic relationships with clients and potential clients to enhance the potential for meeting the objectives of maximum profitability and growth through effective sales and services.
Plan and organize an ongoing sales strategy derived from the corporately defined revenue and profit targets. Analyze the client needs and interests and manage client satisfaction issues.
Ensure strong, effective market share of the products and services by providing direction and information on the products and applications and related services and be capable of effectively contrasting them from the competition. Make telephone and in-person calls and presentations to clients and potential clients. Expedite the resolution of client problems/complaints.
Evaluate performance results and make adjustments as needed. Coordinate sales efforts with the sales management, marketing, order/billing and technical service groups.
Keep abreast of the products, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services.
Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services. Present quotes, credit terms, bid specifications and all other options. Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and credit terms. Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
Gather and manage intelligence regarding customer profile, type, core business industry, buying trends, needs and preferences. Prepare sales documentation for orders obtained, submit orders for processing and maintain customer records by using automated systems. Complete sales reports, reviews and other paperwork.
Increase revenue through contact and partnerships with manufacturer reps and distribution channels. Build bridges internally with HR, Accounting, Credit, Tax, Legal, Product Management, Marketing, Warehouse (OPC), Fraud, Customer Service, IT, MIS, BSA departments.
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes
Associate degree or equivalent experience
1+ year of direct selling experience in demand generation and new account acquisition and/or related experience
Solid understanding of Information technologies, products, services and their competitive equivalents.
Ability to travel up to 10% of time as needed
Strong oral and written communication skills with emphasis in business writing skills
Negotiation, cold calling and qualifying skills
Goal oriented and success driven
Organizational, coordination and time management skills

Decisions generally affect own job or specific functional area. This position develops procedures for performance of a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
