  • Purpose Of The Job

    This candidate will report to the Director, E-commerce Marketing and help shape and execute SEO strategies on one of the largest and most complex retail web sites in the world. The SEO Manager will lead and collaborate with Web, Content, and Product Marketing groups on all major initiatives involving SEO. The ideal candidate will offer a strong mix of technical, analytical, and communication skills; capable of rolling up their sleeves to dig into the nitty-gritty of technical SEO while also capable of evangelizing the adoption of SEO best practices supported by data.


    • Drive SEO project roadmap, identifying key areas of growth and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive prioritization and execution.
    • Maximize organic traffic growth on our website using SEO methods, ensuring that SEO techniques and strategies are well implemented and consistent across sites.
    • Define and write detailed SEO requirements in a product & content marketing capacity by recommending site enhancements that maximize ROI and increase rank of natural search result listings.
    • Optimize site architecture, URL structures, and content for maximized indexing and keyword relevance.
    • Evangelize SEO throughout the organization; educating staff on both technical and content best practices, utilizing the latest trends in SEO techniques.
    • Develop strategies to leverage new web technologies, social networking, user generated content and PR efforts to drive qualified traffic.
    • Monitor search engine keyword ranking, keyword research, competitor analysis and link building.
    • Review and assess current editorial content for quality and optimization purposes.
    • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations for content development in coordination with SEO performance goals.
    • Develop a plan for SEO as we expand internationally with more languages and more localized sites.
    • Regularly report on key metrics and project status, to stakeholders across the organization. Consult and problem solve individual issues when needs arise.
    • Will be accountable for all business performance metrics related to SEO.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

    • BA/BS degree required, in a related discipline preferred. Advanced degree in Computer Science and/or Marketing desirable.
    • 3 to 5 years of SEO work experience at an industry leading site.
    • Proficiency in paid and free SEO tools (Google Search Console, SEOClarity, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.)
    • Hands on experience with web analytics tools & search engine referral tracking/benchmarking tools. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs particularly Excel data modeling including use of pivot tables and PowerPoint.
    • Mastery of technical-SEO fundamentals (page markup & schemas, URL structures, site crawl performance, server vs. client-side rendering, caching & CDNs, etc)
    • Proven problem solving skills with attention to detail and follow-up.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment.
    • Driven self-starter who thinks about the people and processes needed to get things done.

This position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.

    Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

    Work Environment

    Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
