  • Purpose Of The Job

    This position is responsible for coordinating daily transportation services to support internal and external vendors, customers, and carriers.

    Responsibilities/Duties


    • Schedule and monitor transportation-related activities (including pickups and deliveries) on a daily basis.

    • Coordinate returned product freight.

    • Assist clients with product selection and pricing to improve transportation routes; responsible for escalating customer requests that require special follow up; oversee that support teams follow the local regional process to establish POs and execute local infrastructure changes.

    • Work closely with company purchasers, warehouse personnel and carriers to resolve service issues.

    • Consolidate POs and routing to accommodate individual vendor or customer delivery requirements.

    • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Logistics Supervisor.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes


    • High school diploma or GED or Higher.

    • 4+ years of experience in the transportation field to include: trip assignment and re-routing trips.

    • Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.

    • Knowledge of transportation modes, methodology, billing and claims processes.

    • Package pickup scheduling experience, which includes customer processing, route delivery procedures and basic security and operational procedures.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Team player willing to handle multiple tasks with good problem-solving skills.

    • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively to interact with internal and external customers.

    • Able to work under minimal supervision.

    Mental
    Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department. This position develops procedures for performance of a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.

    Physical
    Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

    Equipment Used

    Standard office and computer equipment including MSOffice software.

    Work Environment

    Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.

    None.

    Language Skills

    Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
