  • Purpose Of The Job

    All products included on Newegg websites must go through the process of SKU creation, including detailed product specifications with proper properties and comprehensive values, and categorization, which could be different from PM product category organization. Proper website navigation has to be set up to facilitate customer search for each of these products. The Content Specialist, working closely with various PM teams and other internal stakeholders, is responsible for item creation, categorization and navigation, and making necessary updates to suit business needs. 

    Responsibilities/Duties

     

    • Create new product SKUs, including VF (virtual fulfillment) SKUs, following established taxonomy.
    • Research and create product specification templates, if necessary, with proper properties.
    • Input comprehensive values per property for each new SKU.
    • Update SKU specifications with new properties and values when necessary.
    • Create new categories and sub-categories to support business needs.
    • Re-classify SKUs to new category and sub-category upon business changes.
    • Re-classify sub-categories to different categories to meet business needs.
    • Modify website navigation according to product category changes.
    • Modify website navigation to meet business needs.
    • Set up and update visual navigation for individual product categories and sub-categories.
    • Make necessary SKU information addition and modification according to customer feedback.
    • Make necessary SKU information addition and modification based on input from site search analysis.
    • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand products and make necessary taxonomy improvements.
    • Participate in the ongoing process of improving web content.
    • Work on special content projects as requested.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

    • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, other related field, or equivalent business experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in SKU creation, categorization and website navigation with exposure in e-commerce environment.
    • Experience in web content creation using HTML and CSS.
    • Solid understanding of products and services in information technologies and consumer electronics.
    • A background in product management and/or merchandising is helpful.
    • Knowledge of onsite search and/or SEO (search engine optimization) will be a big plus.
    • Proficiency in product taxonomy management.
    • Solid skills in HTML and CSS.
    • Strong project management and production skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.

    Essential Mental and Physical Functions

    • Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for company communication is essential.
    • No heavy lifting is expected.

    Equipment Used

    Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software.

    Work Environment

    Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively.
