  • Purpose Of The Job

    This role is responsible for providing a continuous and profitable supply of IT/CE and general merchandise products on a global basis. This position will fulfill demand in prioritized global markets and outlets from both in-country sources and from products sourced globally that can be imported/exported efficiently.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    • Develop a global sourcing pipeline that enables Newegg to buy and sell globally.
    • Work closely with the product management teams and procurement networks to develop and implement global sourcing strategies to bring in new products at competitive prices for Newegg.
    • Conduct market intelligence research by interacting with key manufacturers, suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry-relevant information to assess current and future impact product and market trends.
    • Engage international manufacturers and distributors and negotiate the best prices for sale internationally and in the US with large vendors and manufactures.
    • Build and leverage strong working relationships with Manufacturers and Distributors to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
    • Facilitate the sourcing of products direct from the manufacturer, through the manufacturer’s distribution network or through open market sourcing.
    • Coordinate the global fulfillment of demand that can be effectively and efficiently serviced from North American sources.
    • Insure all sourcing meets compliance and regulatory laws.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

    • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain or similar
    • 10 + years of experience in a senior global sourcing role
    • Extensive experience with global ecommerce, marketplaces, omni-channel retailing, and global logistics/supply chain methods.
    • Broad knowledge of IT/CE categories, knowledge of general merchandise a plus.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of North America and Asia markets.
    • Strong management skills and ability to influence peers, colleagues and leaders both internally and externally.
    • Can create and drive the implementation of the required infrastructure to build and drive this function
    • Multi-lingual is a plus

This position is highly-varied, complex, and often non-recurring. It may require novel and creative approaches to resolution. New concepts and approaches may have to be developed.

    Physical Functions:
    Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

    Equipment Used

    Standard office and computer equipment including MSOffice software.

    Work Environment

    Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    May supervise up to three employees

    Language Skills

    Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English and be multi-lingual

    Travel Requirements

    50% International Travel
