Purpose Of The Job
To develop, build and maintain Newegg’s global presence and business outside the existing markets (USA, Canada).
Work with Marketplace international domain head to develop and establish strategy and tactics in order to achieve overall platform cross-border objectives.
Research and fully understand a given market’s competition, total addressable market, internet and mobile penetration, e-commerce opportunity, population density and growth, logistical aptitude, and currency exchange market. Based on the research, come up with ‘go to market’ strategy, develop processes and resource requirement for launching and rapid growing cross-border selling of marketplace sellers’ product listings to the defined international market through Newegg’s ecommerce platforms
Work with Category Manager/Account Manager and sometimes directly with sellers to enable suitable product assortment for selling in selective or all available international markets for sellers
Using the market knowledge, cooperate and guide international marketing and merchandising team to strategize, plan and execute any local marketing (online or offline) and/or online promotion initiative and activities in a given international market we are focusing.
Work with BSA/BSD team to improve both front end online and back end administrative functionalities to optimize customer facing experience as well as internal operation processes and efficiency.
Work with domain head to identify suitable business partners and service providers via industry connections, tradeshows and research in order to grow and enhance international cross-border business. Also work with relevant internal operational department such as logistics, customer service, finance, legal, etc. to carry out routine operation if necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, international supply chain management or similar field required.
Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.
6+ years of online marketing and merchandising, cross-border ecommerce merchandising, OR International supply chain management experience, OR 6+ year general ecommerce experience
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Goal oriented and planning driven.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
eCommerce know-how especially on global eCommerce market is preferred.
Excellent analytic, organizational and coordination skills
Detail-oriented self-starter with a positive attitude who is deadline and results oriented
Team player adept at working in cross functional environment
Understanding of online Marketplace Principles and Retailing is preferred
Ability to acquire work/travel documents (i.e., passport and visa) as required by various countries.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions
Decisions have significant, broad implications for the management and operations of a division. Job contributes to decisions on the overall strategy and direction of the Company. This position established procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.
Standard office and computer equipment including MSOffice software.
Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English. Fluency in Chinese, Spanish, Arabic or other language is a plus.
Periodic domestic and international travel is required.
