Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting

Purpose Of The Job

Responsible for preparing and maintaining financial statements and reports for the company, key participant in SEC filings and reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.


  • Responsible for managing the financial planning process, including annual budgets for revenue, gross margin and SG&A, monthly forecasts, business unit segment reporting on a monthly basis and allocations of shared services expense and general costs
  • Interface with banks, creditors and other external financial institutions as a representative of Newegg.
  • Manage the company’s internal financial segment reporting process and communicate business drivers to the company’s top management.
  • Provide insights to top management based on financial data.
  • Review departmental expenses and headcount, highlight challenges to management.
    Evaluate investment opportunities on marketing initiatives, capital expenditures, incremental resources and other business initiatives.
  • Responsible for financial modeling projects using scenario analysis.
  • Contribute to creating the reporting package for the Board of Directors and Executive Board meetings
  • Oversee the maintenance of financial systems and plan for future enhancements.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and financial analysis as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics; MBA is desirable
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning, Financial Reporting, Accounting or a related field.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Must be an analytical problem solver with the ability to use facts as basis for insights.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of finance, accounting, and financial reporting including generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Ability to analyze large financial data sets, distill information into valuable insights and prepare financial reports, statements, and budgets from them.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word. SAP experience a plus.
  • Must demonstrate exceptionally strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, SAP, TM1, COGNOS, Hyperion suite or similar platforms.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Must be a proven leader and self-starter.
  • Work requires professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships.
  • Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects concurrently.

Mental Functions:

This position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.

Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software.

Work Environment

Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
