Purpose Of The Job

Drive logistics and continuous improvement activities (storage, shipping) including: inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing and customer service.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Ensure rapid, accurate movement and processing of merchandise using established-process engineering methods and standards for daily shipment requests, internal department claims, carrier claim checks and VF warehouse routing requests.
  • Secure and compare carrier rate quotes for use by internal teams with transportation needs. Research and maintain the most cost-effective procedures and systems that can be applied to all areas of OZZO Transportation.
  • Develop standardized process for Asus vendor in coordination with Carrier to ensure they are properly servicing customers based on established requirements.
  • Manage and arrange for all 3PL freight requests.
  • Oversee freight invoice collection, review and audit process to ensure only valid charges are approved and forwarded to A/P for processing.
  • Review daily claims reporting as processed by Transportation personnel.
  • Assist Customer Service CS) claims team with claim and transportation inquiries; assist Claims Agents with carrier requests.
  • Analyzer data from Asus daily shipment and rail shipment reports for use with monthly reporting and forecasting to reserve equipment for future shipments.
  • Provide weekly and monthly status reports on carrier claims and outstanding aging claims to Transportation Manager for development of subsequent weekly and monthly target resolution goals.
  • Train and develop incoming Transportation personnel; develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal Transportation Freight and Claims processing procedures.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

  • High School or GED required.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in the transportation field.
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Transportation and Logistics Management, a plus.
  • Knowledge of transportation modes(road, rail, and/or air), methodologies (Congestion Pricing, Emission Fees, Episodic/Seasonal Controls, Intelligent Transportation System), VMT Fees, billing and claims processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player willing to handle multiple tasks with good problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Previous supervisory skills a plus.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions

Mental Functions:
Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.

Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

Equipment Used

Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software.

Work Environment

Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

2-3 direct reports

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
