Purpose Of The Job

Manages the overall tax provision and tax filing processes and tax compliance for the company.


  • Manages all aspects of the tax provision process and demonstrates a deep understanding of ASC740 and related accounting and financial reporting skills necessary to complete an accurate tax provision
  • Prepares documentation on tax issues for the company’s records.
  • Manages all aspects of accounting for UTPs under ASC740-10 and documents positions accordingly.
  • Manages all aspects of the company’s domestic and foreign tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with CFC reporting and pitfalls under Subpart F.
  • Manages all aspects of the company’s IRC Section 482 compliance and documentation.
  • Manages the tax filing process and reviews all federal, state, foreign and local income tax returns, as well as sales/use, HST/GST, VAT and property tax returns and business licenses.
  • Ensures all state and federal direct and indirect tax payments are accurate and timely.
  • Manages assigned projects such as financial audit.
  • Familiar with FAS123R tax reporting requirements.
  • Reviews and approves all indirect tax returns and payments.
  • Keeps abreast of ever-changing tax regulations and implements process changes as needed.
  • Researches sales and use tax law changes to ensure compliance.
  • Manages the Company’s federal, state and foreign income, sales, use and property tax and business license audits and examinations.
  • Coordinates all income, sales and property tax and business license projects with outside consultants, tax agents and external accountants.
  • Maintains ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Partners with various departments, communicating and documenting the status of tax projects.
  •       Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation and/or CPA required.
  • 5 - 8 years public or industry, tax or accounting experience.
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of tax related matters, along with a well-rounded finance and accounting acumen.
  • Solid computer skills in MS Words and Outlook and intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively with sensitive deadlines and under pressure.
  • Dedicates to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
  • Retail experiences a plus
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
  • Accountability for results, approaches obstacles proactively, and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.

Mental Functions:
Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department. Job

position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the
final results of work done are typically reviewed.

Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No
heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer..

Work Environment

Standard office environment with limited exposure to elements or health hazards.
