This position is responsible for assisting the Receiving Supervisor in maintaining an efficient, safe, and secure Receiving Department to process all incoming merchandise delivered to the warehouse.
Perform regular receiving duties such as unloading packages, verify delivered packages against purchase order (PO), and inspect packages of any damages incurred
Assist supervisor in assigning and delegating tasks to receiving clerks; assure the merchandise is checked; data is input in the Warehouse Management System (WMS); record is kept, and the completed merchandise is delivered to storage area with accuracy
Handle complex receiving problems such as posting Warehouse Receiving Dispute (WRD) damaged type of PO
Assist supervisor in ensuring high standards of cleanliness and orderliness of receiving area
Conduct basic maintenance on equipment assigned to receiving department such as forklift and pallet jack and report to Warehouse Operation Manager and/or Facility Department if the equipment is not working properly
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes
3-5 years receiving experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Certified forklift driver’s license
Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division
Good understanding in receiving procedures and practices
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to solve problems
Knowledge of safe working habits
Essential Mental and Physical Functions
• Walking, stooping, standing, stretching, bending, lifting and sitting for long periods of time • Ability to work under extreme environments such as high heat and/or cold weather • Requires minimum lifting ability of 40 pounds; may require heavy lifting of 50+ pounds with assistance of team members and/or equipment
Forklift and additional motorized vehicles.
• Job will be performed in a warehouse environment that may be noisy, dirty, hot and/or cold
